This is a person who like nuclear energy just keeps going on its on steam without any external impetus. A nuclear reaction does need an external trigger, similarly an entrepreneur may derive motivation from external sources but once you start you keep going on and on. We grow up in a world used to carrot and stick motivation – parents use it on children, teachers on students, then corporations and managers on workers. In this world these nuclear powered individuals will stand out driven by insane desires to make a difference, change the world or sometime practically just to create enormous wealth.

This is not an original phrase. I remember reading it in an interview of some manager whose name I don’t remember around 10-12 years ago. Let’s just attribute it to the unknown manager.
